I've been tagged by Christina Brown at Northern Cheapskate to do a meme called 7 Random Things. What the hell is a meme I thought? Kids these days...
A meme, according to some meme blog I found, is described as this:
In the context of web logs / 'blogs / blogging and other kinds of personal web sites it's some kind of list of questions that you saw somewhere else and you decided to answer the questions. Then someone else sees them and does them and so on and so on. I generally consider these to be actual questions and not some multiple choice quizzes that determine some result at the end (what color you are most like, what cartoon character are you, what 80s movie are you).
So, after somewhat figuring it out, here's my 7 Random things.
1. Popcorn hulls - when I was little I saw some relative put in contact lenses. I thought they looked a lot like the hulls from popcorn so I stuck them in my eye.
2. Little River band - the first cassette tape I bought with my very own money. Have you heard about the Lonesome Loser?
3. pond's - I use this old lady smelling cream on my face. My 93 year old grandma has always used it and barely has wrinkles.
4. Corn Dogs - I love corn dogs. Even the veggie dogs that aren't as bad for you.
5. Entertainment Weekly. I subscribe.
6. Rings - I lost both my wedding ring and my engagement ring.
7. California - I have never been to California (she hangs her head in shame).

You know, Heidi ...
All the gold ... in CaliFORN-ya ... is stored in a bank in Beverly Hills ... in somebody else's name.
So if you go .... to CaliFORN-ya ... it don't matter where you played before, California's a brand new game.
I heard that on a country station once. Just though you should know.

Thanks for playing, Heidi... your list of seven things was HILARIOUS!!!! Don't feel too bad about your first cassette tape - mine was Wham!
Yikes.
This is posted at Heidi’s request.
I’m not sure about the tagging part…so this is all there is
I hope lots of people post their 7 things lists! What fun to read them!

7 Random Things
1. The Beatles: I will always love them. I’d never really had a crush before. It was February 1964. I was 11.
2. Max: Dennis and I have an orange cat named Max. He is de-clawed and neutered and loves to cuddle. Does anybody want a nice cat? Note: sometimes he gets on the furniture without permission.
3. Dish rags: I generally knit about one a week.
4. Sappiness: Right now, at my desk, I’m drinking a cup of maple sap that was stored in a yellow, plastic kitty litter container. It tastes great!
5. Doctor Who: Totally Hooked. Can’t wait for the 4th season to come out on DVD!
6. Eggs: I usually eat more than one every day.
7. California: Heidi, you can do it! I was there a couple weeks ago. It’s close to Las Vegas.
1. Knows 10 things to do in California that don't involve gold or Beverly Hills.
2. Have kept a plant alive for 2 years now, a record.
3. Mother worked for a while as a morning news & weather announcer on KDHI radio 29 Palms.
4. Might go to the salon for just a shampoo and the latest People magazine.
5. Remember Friday nights at the roller rink?
6. or Saturday nights at the drive-in with brown grocery bags of homemade popcorn and orange Fanta pop?
7.A lake is not the ocean.

Anonymous is Jennifer at KAXE in this case. Here are my 7 random things:
1. True Child of the '80's: I once kept a collection of Michael Jackson bubble gum cards in a Cabbage Patch wallet.
2. Speaking of Thriller: One of the great thrills of my life was walking across Abbey Road (just like the Beatles!)
3. Plane ride: When I was 10, I was on the same flight as Richard Dean Anderson (aka MacGyver). I didn't know it until after I got off the plane though. I didn't even see him.
4. What, no Big Bird?: I truly believed that the entire cast of Sesame Street was going to show up at my house one specific night when I was about 3. They didn't come, and boy, did I cry!
5. Princess Di: While I was working at my hometown grocery store in the days following Princess Diana's death, a woman threw a whole stack of tabloids in my face.
6. Grandma's Purse: Does anybody remember Chewells gum? My grandma always had it in her purse. It was gum (in either mint or bubble gum flavor) that had goo in the middle. My mom hated it because I always wanted to look at the goo while I bit into the gum, thus making a mess.
7. Barnes and Noble: I bought a book about "Seinfeld" about a month before the show ended. It descibes every episode except for probably the last 3.
7 Random Things
7. I was in Vietnam but never was in a helicopter.
6. My first music purchase was Johnny Cash on a Sun Records 45 rpm recording "Ballad of a Teenage Queen" and I gave it to my 6th grade girlfriend.
5. I seldom watch tv except Saturday night and then its Cops from 7-8pm. Bad boy bad boy who ya gonna...............
4. The funniest show on tv is The Soup on ETV. Joel McHale has the wickedest and sickest sense of humor since, well, I don't know...
3. I was voted "the best lips" in eighth grade.
2. I want to visit the Bridges of Madison County.
1. I was named for the Greek god of wine and merriment.
