Plenty tomorrow morning at 7:20

Maggie and Scott will interview Alisa Smith and James McKinnon of Vancouver, BC tomorrow about their 100 mile diet and book "Plenty - One Year, One Man, One Woman, and a Raucous Year of Eating Locally". Did you know that when the average North American sits down to eat, each ingredient has typically travelled at least 1,500 miles?

I have healthy radish plants, but no radish. Also, have sandy soil, with added soil, compost and peat and only about 4 hours of sun per day. Water regularly. Why no radishes?

Tomatoes--my tomatoes are grown in pots for more sun. The tomatoes get too tall, up to 6' and hard to handle. I take all suckers off. Can I cut the tops off to stop the vertical growth?

Marl soil on the shoreland, what is good to plant in that area? What will grow in marl?
